Global Training Academy to be started by TCS at Thiruvananthapuram

The Kerala government is set to sign a Mou with TCS, a leading software major in the country to start TCS Global Training Academy in Thiruvananthapuram, with an investment of Rs 1000 crore.The proposed academy would be the largest training centre of TCS in India with training and accommodation facilities for about 10,000 to 15,000 professionals, a release said here today.

TCS would also construct most modern Software Development SEZ Campuses at Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi for providing job opportunities to 8,000 and 5,000 IT professionals in these centres respectively.

Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) will kick off its Golden Jubilee celebrations with a slew of new programmes here, on July 30 and the MoU will be a part of the celebrations, it added.

Being the nodal agency for all industry related activities in the state, KSIDC had already partnered and pioneered over 700 projects with an investment outlay of Rs 26,300 crore and generating employment for nearly five lakh people during the last five decades.

Now the agency will facilitate mega projects worth Rs 100,000 crore in the coming years, the release said.
