Union Minister of state for Agriculture (Independent) would inaugurate the fourth floating supermarket of Consumerfed for customers living on the banks of lakes at Panangad in Kochi district on July 23.
Informing this at a news conference here, Kerala State Co-operative Consumers’ Federation Ltd Managing Director Dr Riji G Nair said the floating boat with modern facilities, including internet, would knock the doors of people living on the banks of lakes in the business city.
He said the modern boat with 1000 sqft would have all modern amenities and carry more than 2000 varieties of consumer items from rice to cosmetics to be sold at reasonable prices to its customers at their door step.
He said the first of its kind supermarket, inaugurated in 2009 at Kuttanad, was a great success and had sales to the tune of Rs 50,000 to Rs one Lakh daily.
