It is time for the country to refocus its technology mission and give thrust to green technology, Professor B S Sonde, former Vice-Chancellor of Goa University and member of AICTE, said.
He was speaking at a one day seminar on ‘Recent Advancements in Technology with a focus to Green Technologies’ on the occasion of National Technology Day – 2010 organised by the Department of Electronics, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in collaboration with the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment and DST, Government of India.
With advancement of technology, it is time for the country to move to sustainable technology as there is no time-scale for change, he said. In his presentation, S Avudainayagam from the Forest College and Research Institute, Mettupalayam, Tami Nadu, said there were about 30 new green technologies that can be used as sustainable energies.
